Psilocybe cubensis Mexican “Dutch King” / MDK Spore Syringe

Spores are supplied in sterile aqueous solution using 10 ml Luer-Lok syringes. One 40 mm 16ga needle is provided for each spore-filled syringe.

Psilocybe cubensis Mexican Dutch King, often shortened to MDK, is a popular cubensis strain with uncertain origin, possible Mexican background and later association with Dutch coffee shops and the Amsterdam scene. The “Dutch King” name comes from its European market history. The possible Mexican connection remains part of the naming background rather than a confirmed wild collection claim.

Habitat: bovine and equine dung, and enriched soils
Climate: subtropical
Origin: possibly Mexico, with later association to Dutch coffee shops and the Amsterdam scene

Cap: 50+ mm in diameter, convex to broadly convex at maturity, occasionally with an acute umbo. Dark cinnamon brown, maturing to golden brown. Surface dry, lacking universal veil remnants on the cap. Flesh white, soon bruising bluish green where damaged.

Stem: 75–125 mm long, yellowish to buff. Flesh bruising bluish green where injured. A persistent membranous annulus from the partial veil may become dusted with purple-brown spores at maturity.

Gills: attachment adnate to adnexed. Grayish in young fruit bodies, becoming dark purplish brown to nearly black as spores mature.

Spores: dark purplish brown, subellipsoid, produced on 4-spored basidia.
