Psilocybe cubensis: Penis Envy Spore Syringe

Penis Envy spores are supplied in sterile aqueous solution using 10 ml Luer-Lok syringes. One 40 mm 16ga needle is provided for each spore-filled syringe.

Psilocybe cubensis Penis Envy is one of the most recognizable cubensis strains in modern spore catalogs. Penis Envy is widely associated with Rich Gee, who is credited in modern interviews and strain-history discussions with developing the variety from earlier material known under the “Amazons” name. It later became a foundation strain for many PE-family variants, hybrids and mutations, including Albino Penis Envy / APE and the modern B+ × Penis Envy hybrid Tidal Wave.

Cap: 50+ mm in diameter, campanulate, golden brown to yellow. Surface dry and lacking universal veil remnants on the cap. Flesh white, soon bruising bluish green where damaged. Caps do not develop in the same way as standard Cubensis strains and show diminished spore production.

Stem: 125–275 mm long, contorted and often bulbous near the middle, pale yellow to buff. Flesh bruising bluish green where injured. No persistent annulus, but an annular zone can be distinguished on the stem surface.

Gills: attachment adnate to adnexed, very close and underdeveloped. Grayish in young fruit bodies, darkening slightly with age.

Spores: few, but dark purplish brown in volume, subellipsoid, produced on 4-spored basidia. Penis Envy can be less prolific with visible spore release than standard cubensis strains, which is part of why clean original Penis Envy spore material remains especially valuable in catalog form.

Penis Envy was also central to the development of Albino Penis Envy, better known as APE.
