Spores are supplied in sterile aqueous solution using 10 ml Luer-Lok syringes. One 40 mm 16ga needle is provided for each spore-filled syringe.
Psilocybe tampanensis Pollock is one of the most important rare exotic Psilocybe strains in the Sporeworks catalog. It has direct connection to the original Tampa-region material and to the broader mexicana-complex / sclerotia-forming group. Wild Psilocybe tampanensis specimens remain extremely uncommon, making Pollock strain valuable both as a historical and taxonomic reference.

Habitat: sandy grasslands, sandy meadows and grass-rich soil
Climate: warm, humid subtropical to temperate
Origin: Tampa, Florida, USA; original Pollock strain from type-region material
Sclerotia and growth form: Psilocybe tampanensis is best known for forming compact underground sclerotia, the dense storage structures often called the “Philosopher’s Stones”. This biological trait made the species commercially and historically important. Wild occuring fruit bodies are rare and typically small, yellow-brown and grassland-associated.
Taxonomy: Psilocybe tampanensis was first described in 1978 by Steven H. Pollock and Gastón Guzmán. Pollock discovered and cloned the original specimen near Tampa, Florida, and the species name reflects its Tampa origin. The original Florida collection became the foundation for the Pollock strain in circulation.
Cap: small, usually around 1–2.5 cm wide, convex to conic-convex when young and becoming broader or flatter with age. Yellow-brown to straw-brown, sometimes paler when dry, with a hygrophanous surface.
Stem: thin and fragile, usually 2–6 cm long, whitish to yellowish brown and becoming hollow with age. Fruit body is much smaller and more delicate than standard Psilocybe cubensis strains.
Gills: attachment adnate to adnexed, pale grayish to light brown when young and becoming darker purple brown with maturity.
Spores: dark purple brown, smooth, elliptical to slightly elongated.
